JOB SUMMARY
Join our TEAM! Eco-Pan is a leading service provider of concrete washout services. Specializing in on the job-site solutions for concrete washout needs including handling, treatment, recycling and safe transport of the washout for Commercial, Residential, Municipality and heavy DOT/Infrastructure projects. Eco-Pan, Inc. has an immediate opening for a full-time swing shift Mechanic based in our Pleasant Grove, UT location. Reporting to the Regional Director, this position is responsible for performing regular preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure equipment functions properly. The position analyzes and repairs equipment when it breaks by using tools to repair damage and by replacing parts that cannot be repaired and assists the Service Manager in whatever is necessary to keep equipment running.
The regular shift for this position is Monday – Friday from 3pm – 12am, although overtime is expected including weekends.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Repair and maintain all equipment pursuant to the company’s standards, including regular services, daily maintenance, and all regulatory requirements.
- As necessary, drive to jobsite to repair company equipment.
- Change oil and filters; lubricate all equipment.
- Prepare all equipment for use on the next day.
- Replace parts or repair all equipment as the work schedule demands.
- Troubleshoot problems over the phone when necessary.
- Welding and metal fabricating – Weld and repair pans and other equipment as needed.
- Operate equipment (including forklifts, jacks, etc.) during the course of daily job duties.
- Ensure all trucks meet DOT specifications at all times.
- Keep a list of parts used and hours spent on repairs. Transfer small parts from storage shelves (or staging areas) to truck and install the same.
- Work overtime as the work schedule demands.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
- All work performed will follow safety, and regulatory guidelines and rules as specified by company.
- Maintain shop pursuant to company service manual.
- All inventoried items are to be kept safe, clean and orderly at all times.
- Access all areas of company’s equipment as required for maintaining equipment.
- Access spaces with small entry ways such as the area between drive train and truck frame to troubleshoot, service, and repair pumps.
- Access all boom areas to troubleshoot, service, and repair.
- Access separate placing booms located at customer’s jobsite to maintain company’s equipment.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Motorized vehicles for mechanical testing purposes, power and hand tools and equipment for vehicle and mechanical system work; mechanic’s tools including jacks, hydraulic lifts, air tools, and other tools required for minor repairs and routine maintenance of motorized vehicles; electronic vehicle diagnostic equipment; personal computer, calculator, phone; mobile or portable radio.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
This position does not supervise other employees.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical trade school experience strongly preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bilingual Spanish/English speaking strongly preferred.
- Must be trained in repairs, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Must have good welding and metal fabricating skills.
- Federal DOT Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Medical Card are required at all times.
- Must have operating knowledge of all company equipment and the required maintenance of each.
- Must own a large variety of tools and a tool box. Employee will be responsible for maintaining these tools and insuring as needed.
- Able to prioritize among competing requirements.

- Must possess good manual dexterity: moderate walking, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, sliding, reaching and balancing. Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours per day.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 75 pounds to an overhead position.
- When parts are extremely heavy, must have the ability to run lifting equipment (i.e. forklifts, jacks)
- Must be able to work in tight spaces/small areas (i.e., access under rear axle, areas between drive train and truck frame, etc. to troubleshoot, service, and repair equipment).
- Ability to work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts.
- Exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel, and thereby recognize such hazards.
- Must tolerate working environment with outside temperatures that include excessive heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
